3 Things You Can Do To Try And Make Your Acne Treatment As Successful As Possible

When going through any type of acne treatment, it is important that you do all that you can on your end to take care of your skin. Your dermatologist has prescribed a treatment that is going to work best with your skin type and your acne situation, but if you want to see the desired results, you need to do all that you can to help your skin. This article will discuss 3 things that you can do to try and make your acne treatment as successful as possible.

Avoid Using Foundation

Foundation can clog your pores and potentially worsen your acne, which is the last thing that you want to have happen when you are going through acne treatment. Also, because your skin will likely be more sensitive during your acne treatment, the foundation may irritate it even more. It may cause your skin to become more red, or may dry out your skin even more. While you may not feel 100% yourself without your foundation on, just realize that your acne treatment is going to help your skin, and not wearing foundation during your treatment can help you to see excellent results in the long run.

Do Not Touch Your Face

An incredibly simple way to help make your acne treatment more successful is to leave your skin alone. Avoid touching your face at all, unless you are using a washrag or cotton ball to clean your face. Touching the blemishes on your face will likely spread them, and picking on them will only make them look and feel worse. Also, the oils on your hands will get on your face, and can cause you to get more blemishes than you had initially.

Do Not Over-Wash Your Face

While washing your face is a great thing, it is important that you do not over-wash your face. If you dry out the skin on your face too much, then more oil is going to be produced. This oil may then cause you to get more pimples in areas that you otherwise would have no zits at all, or at least fewer zits. Also, if you wash your face too much in combination with your acne treatment, then you may cause your skin to become too dry and it will begin to peel. This is not only unsightly, but it may also make your acne treatment less effective than you would like it to be.
